It started in a bazaar.

I discovered jewellery making by accident.

A badly planned trip around India led me to a small market workshop in Pushkar. Ravi, a master jeweller, gave me a crash course in the chemistry of precious metals, soldering, and the value of making something distinctive from simple materials.

Three days later, I left with a pearl ring I still wear.

I'm Joseph Conreen, a London-based maker. Two years after that first workshop in Pushkar, what started as a chance discovery has become my debut collection of handcrafted silver jewellery.

The Studio

Built by hand. Run the same way.

In March 2024 I set up a home studio. With a self-taught education in technique, and a bench, built by my dad, Martin Conreen; former senior design professor, carpenter and my biggest creative enabler. He made it by hand with a lot of love, something I’ve channeled into every piece made on it since.

The work

Deliberately imperfect

The debut collection explores silver through contrast.

Rough, darkened surfaces are set against high polish. Clean forms are interrupted by texture, patina and details made in the moment. Each piece is considered, but never over-finished.

Jewellery that carries marks well. Made to feel like it’s already lived a little.
